GSES Teacher Honored for Contributions in Physical Education

01-August-2017 (GSES) - Leta Hoit, physical education teacher at Greystone Elementary School, has been selected as the Alabama State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance (ASAHPERD) Jump Rope for Heart Coordinator of the Year.

Hoit will be honored at an awards reception at the 2017 ASAHPERD Fall Conference in November. She will also be nominated for the Southern District Jump Rope for Heart Coordinator of the Year as the Alabama award recipient.

Jump Rope for Heart is a national education and fundraising event sponsored by the American Heart Association and the Society of Health and Physical Educators (SHAPE). Jump Rope for Heart aims to help students grow by teaching them the value of community service and how to develop heart-healthy habits while being physically active.
